How can I make a scrap book ?

The process of making a scrapbook is an imaginative and creative one that starts with the interest to create and preserve memories. With the use of scrapbooking, memories are kept through images, colors, shapes, words and stories. They can be of special times, special days, or special people. The necessary tools for scrapbooking are papers, colors, stencils, scissors and photographs.

The first thing to do before making a scrapbook is to choose a folder or a book where you want to put all the pages in. usually, these books are in a form of spiral or bound with spines. They can also be a folder with prongs to keep all the pages in, or a notebook with large pages and firm spirals to maintain heavy pictures from ripping off the page. There are books that you can use, which already come with pages. However, if there are no papers with your notebook, there are heavy construction papers available that goes with different colors and sizes.

Once you have your chosen notebook and paper, you can continue the process of scrapbooking by thinking of the things that you like to scrapbook. After choosing the group, person, event or day, you can start looking for images of memories that you want. You can now start narrowing down the images you want to use for your page. After this, you can start the actual making of the scrapbook page.

Once you have a picture on a page, you can start adding different things to make the page unique. You can add a description of the event or day, the things that people said on the time the image was taken, or even a cutout text pasted on it. Clip arts or stickers around the pages of your scrapbook are also a good idea in decorating and making you’re the pages more personalized. Whatever way or materials you used in making your scrapbook, it is always best if you are having fun doing it.

We are using Umbraco as our CMS offering. Mainly because it fits the type of client we are aiming at a certain price point. Also because it is the best .NET open source CMS that we found.

They are smaller and don’t require so many features or fine grain control on security etc.

But of course there are other clients who are prepared to pay for off the shelf features and the license fee that comes with Sitecore or Episerver.

Right now Umbraco is helping us on our way. But as soon as that client comes along who needs that bit more and is prepared to pay the license fee for it, then that’s fine with us.
